Why not Prisync, Pricefy or a Shopify app?

They’re built for teams with time to set them up. Competese does the setup for you.

  1. 01

    It finds your competitors

Most trackers want a list of competitor product links. Competese searches the web for shops selling what you sell and you tick the ones to watch.

  2. 02

    It matches the products

By name, barcode, size and pack size. A 6 × 250g pack and a 1kg bag are compared per kg. Each match shows both pictures and both links.

  3. 03

    It works on any website

It reads public product pages, so Shopify, WooCommerce and most other shop websites work. Connecting a WooCommerce shop is optional, and read-only.

  4. 04

It tells you what to do next

Your margin now, your margin if you match, and the price your own rule suggests. Then you decide.

HOW IT WORKS

About two minutes from you. Then it runs by itself.

  1. 1

    Enter your website

We read your products and prices from your public pages. Nothing to install. No spreadsheet.

  2. 2

    Tick your competitors

We suggest shops selling what you sell, with the reason for each. Tick the ones to watch, or add your own.

  3. 3

    Get the briefing

Matching and price checks run by themselves. You get an email daily, weekly or on the days you pick.

WHAT YOU’LL SEE

Every product you sell, next to the cheapest competitor.

An example coffee shop watching three competitors. Biggest gaps first, prices include VAT, and pack sizes are evened out.

MATCHING

Every match, easy to check

Different pack sizes are compared per unit. If two products aren’t the same, press No and it stops counting, for every size of both.

MARGINS

Can you afford to match?

Add your costs, or bring them in from your shop. See your margin now, your margin if you match, and the price your rule suggests. Download the list as CSV.

RANGE GAPS

What they sell that you don’t

Products your competitors sell with nothing like them in your range, grouped by category, with who sells each one and at what price.

SALES CALENDAR

When they run their sales

Every price cut and promotion, by day. Kept for two years, so next Black Friday you know who moved first last time.

YOUR SHOP

Connect your WooCommerce shop

Optional. Brings in your exact products, costs and stock. Competese only reads: it never changes a price or a product in your shop.

WEBHOOKS

Alerts to your other tools

Each alert can also be sent to Zapier, Make, Teams or your own system. Every message is signed so you can check it came from us.

Also included: stock-out alerts (“they’ve run out, you haven’t”), a weekly “worth a look” list with Yes/No match answers in the email, each competitor’s delivery charges and free-delivery threshold (with an alert when they change), price history for two years, CSV export and a printable report.

THE HONEST COMPARISON

QUESTIONS

Before you sign up

Where do the prices come from?

From the public product pages on each website, the same prices a customer sees. Every price links to the page it was read from, with the date.

Will my competitors know?

We don’t contact them, and nothing we do names you. Their server logs show visits from CompeteseBot, as they would for any other crawler.

Does it work with my shop?

It reads Shopify and WooCommerce websites, and most other shop websites that publish standard product data (the kind Google uses to show prices in search). It can’t read prices behind a login or trade account, quote-only prices, or sites whose robots.txt asks crawlers to stay out. You can add those prices by hand.

Do I have to connect my shop?

No. Competese works from your public website. Connecting a WooCommerce shop is optional and read-only: it adds exact costs and stock, and Competese never changes anything in your shop.

What about VAT?

Prices are compared including VAT. If a competitor’s site shows trade prices without VAT, set that once for the site and its prices are adjusted. Margins follow whether you’re VAT-registered.

What if it matches the wrong product?

Open the comparison, choose “No, different products”, and that pair stops counting straight away. Gaps over 150% are flagged for you to check rather than reported as undercuts, and packs more than ten times apart in size are never compared.

Does it change my prices?

No. It suggests prices from your rules, and you change them in your own shop. You can download the suggestions as a CSV file.

How often are prices checked?

Weekly or daily, depending on your plan. Briefing emails come daily, weekly or on the days you pick, and instant alerts are an optional extra.

What happens after the free trial?

The trial runs for 7 days with everything included and no card. To keep going, choose a plan. Nothing is charged unless you do.

Can I cancel?

Yes. There’s no contract: pay monthly and cancel from Settings whenever you like. Pay yearly and you get 12 months for the price of 10.
